A Day in the Life of a Chinese Consumer

Background

In 2016, I took a trip back to Shanghai to visit my family. During the trip, I was shocked by the new consumer’s life shaped by innovative digital tools. I documented it and collaborated with my colleague, Anna Coleman, who also has family living in China, on a Dreamforce talk that shared a lot of our observations and thoughts on the new technology trends in shaping the Chinese consumer’s life

The process

  1. Documented how my family shop and live their life in Shanghai

  2. Interviewed my friends and family to paint a more vivid picture of a Chinese consumer’s life

  3. Researched a lot of articles and interviewed Salesforce’s futurist expert, Peter Schwarts on his observation of China’s development in the past decades

  4. Anna and I spoke on the Dreamforce stage in 2017.
